AUCKLAND GETS TOURNAMENT

CHRISTCHURCH, this day

A meeting of the management coniinittee of the New Zealand Hockey Association was Hold last night. Mr. 11, Thorp gave notice to move at the next meeting of delegates to suspend the rule of the game which allows the hooking of sticks for the season 1927. On the question of the allocation of the shield tournament, both .Auckland and Nelson applied for control of the tournament this year. It was decided that the tournament bo held in Auckland in duly, provided that no less than .three entries wore received, exclusive’of 'Auckland entries, which must he received not later than June oil.

The Canterbury Association’s request to control the North and South match at Christchurch was granted. The secretary was instructed to cable .to Australia for particulars regarding the proposed tour.
