CREDENCE GIVEN TO A THEORY

,Llec. Tel. Copyright— Din Led Press Assn. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received. May 13, 3 p.m.) ST. JOHNS (Newfoundland), May 12,

News from Harbor Grace says considerable verisimilitude is given to reports of the possibility that Captain Nungesser’s ’plane arrived on the American continent and may have crashed in an inaccessible forest stretch near here by statements made to a magistrate by four or live responsible persons that they heard the whirr of an aeroplane propeller on Monday morning, but were unable to see the machine owing to the dense fog. it is held that since no other 'plane can be traced as having flown over this region at that time there is some reason to believe the machine was the one in question. Tho wooded lowlands in this region are of such a nature that only an extensive search could disclose the presence of the itiers.

It is understood that tho Newfoundland Government will order a party out to scour the. area.
