BLACKBURN TRADE BOOM

MANY MORE MILLS AT WORK BLACKBURN, March 8. Blackburn is rejoicing over a good trade boom which promises to extend into the future. Idle mills have dropped from forty-five to twenty, and within the last six weeks production has increased from CO to 80 per cent. In the same period the unemployment register has declined from ten to four thousand, with an immediate prospect of a further fall. Several firms have contracts, ensuring busy running until the summer, mainly for India. One large employer declared to-night that a very considerable volume of trade was awaiting a peaceful settlement of the Far Eastern difficulties. .
