DROWNED IN 6IN. OF WATER {Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The unidentified body of a man of about 50 was found at- Purakanui, ves terday, face down in 6in. of water. At the inquest a boy identified the body as that of a- man he saw leave the train and enter the bush on April 4. MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Charles R. Pettigrew, 35, was badly injured in a collision with a tramcar near the Esplanade, New Brighton, at about 7 p.m on Saturday, white he was on a motor cycle. Pettigrew sustained a compound fracture of the right leg, and one of his hands was torn, and he was injured on the face. He was hurried in an ambulance to hospital, where he was operated on.
A LONG SLEEP DUNEDIN, this day. The body of Michael Edward Duggan, 38, a single man, a native of Ireland, who Dunedin from Auckland, was found much decomposed in Chisholm Park on Saturday. , The police stated that the position of the body suggested that the deceased had been asleep.
FIVE MOTORISTS INJURED AUCKLAND, this day. By the overturning of a five-seater car near Te Puke, David Cambie, a sawmiller, of Tauranga, bad several ribs broken and his chest injured. Mrs. Cambie sustained a broken rib, and her shoulder is badly bruised. A. Findlay had his nose broken and his knee hurt. R Gray received an injury to one arm, and D. K. Cambio, junr., had a severe knock on the head. Tho ear was completely wrecked.
