Miss Hyett, of Gisborne, left last week on a visit to England. Mr. Chns. Perry, for many years a resident of Gisborne, and latterly of To Ivuiti, .is at present visiting in Poverty Bny. Mr. Gordon Cairns, who until recently was a member of Dalgety and Co.’s staff at, Gisborne, left last, week on a tour to England. Mr Paul Symes, junior British Trade Commissioner at Ottawa, has been appointed Assistant Trade Commissioner at Auckland. A Berlin cable message says it is stated that the enthronement of Archdue Albrecht May is expected to follow Count Bethlcb’s visit to Italy and the resulting treaty. Tho Wanganui Education Board lias nominated Mr. J. R. Kirk, of Gisborne, to the Council of Education as ,a representative of the Boards of the North Island.
