Drastic electric restrictions to meet the strike conditions at Yallourn works were enforced yesterday with electric power industrial concerns and for domestic purposes. Light was cut off from a large section of the city. The trams so far are not affected. Thousands of workers in city and suburbs have been rendered idle and these have been increased as other sections have been robbed of power. All attempts to reach a settlement have been futile. A mass meeting of men strongly declared against a compromise. The police are, guarding tho Yallourn works.
