Clifton Webb Verfan, 28, pleaded guilty this morning to 18 charges covering various offences and was committed for sentence, being allowed out on uail. Two informations related to the forgery of import entries by the use of a rubber stamp for the signature of the Collector of Customs, the forgery of the name “J. J. Wooler” to import Entries (four charges); and twelve charges of fraudulently omitting to account to the .Collector of Customs at Auckland for ,£230, all of which had been refunded by accused since the date of arrest, November 23.
