ORGANISING FINANCE
TREASURY SECRETARY’S TRIP
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Referring to-day to tho vi-sit of the secretary of the treasury, Mr. Hayes, to London, Air. W. Downie Stewart said the main object_ is concerned with the gerua'if) questions of organisation of finance as between the High Commissioner's office and New Zealand; also as .to the machinery in connection with raising loans. There are also certain other important questions affecting the Treasury of a technical nature which will be reported on by Mr. Hayes. .So far as rural advances are concerned, said Air. Stewart, the Government lias already all the information required on the question through the Royal Commission which reported this year and details of its inauguration are already well in hand. The treasury is only concerned with certain administrative details as to the working of the Act of last session. Air. Stewart desires to correct the impression that the Government’s investigations in this matter are not yet completed,, «v* . *
