AUSTRALIAN LAMB EXPORTS

WELLINGTON, last night

The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has just received a cable from its representative in Australia, advising that 188,054 carcases of lamb were exported from Australia for the fortnight ended December 3, 15126.

I MATAWHERO CATTLE I<'AIR. ! Tlie total entry of store cattle at yesterday's fair at Matawhero was 2750, the condition throughout being excellent. Many good pens of bullocks were yarded, but these receded in value fully £1 per head from the previous sale, the highest price being £7 9s, for a splendid line of 4-year-old Herefords. Female cattle seemed to be in better i demand than males. A nice pen of 7 Shorthorn heifers sold at £4 7s 6d, and eows with calves sold to £5 4s. Some typical sales after lunch showing the trend of prices were: 11 cows, empty, low condition, £3 2s; 10 young cows, empty; fresh condition £3 18s; 5 cows, forward condition, and S calves, £s'4s; 23 empty heifers, food line (p), £3 Is; 116 3-year Hereford steers (p), £4 19s; 13 yoaug cows, fair order, and 13 calves (p),*' £3 7s 6d; 86 3-year Hereford bullocks, good order (p), £6 ss; 65 4-year Hereford bullocks, good order (p), £7 9s; 20 young cows, fair store condition, £3 2s 64; 1 & 18-months Hereford steers, £3 9s; 35 yearling Hereford steers, in aveiage condition, £3 13s; 11 empty cows, fair condition, £2 3d; BP. A. cows, good line, £5; 12 4-year bullocks, Hereford Shorthorn cross, in fair order. £6 13s; 20 2-year Hereford steers, gooa line, £4 3s; 12 4-year Hereford bullocks, forward condition, £6 7s 6d; 7 heavy forward bullocks (pj, £6* ss; 22 3-year bullocks, fair order, £4 17s; 16 P.
