PALMEKSTON N., last night. A case *of- considerable interest came before the quarterly meeting of tlie Pahiatua Licensing Committee at WoQclvillc yesterday, when William Love, • licensee of rlie Wimbledon hotel, presented an application for the renewal of his license.
The application originally came be-: fprp tho annual meeting of the committee iu Juno last, when it was adjourned, pending repairs to the building.' At the .September quarterly meeting the application was again ad-j journqd, as the police .stated that . nothing had been done. ' At yesterday's meeting it was reported thatthe repairs ordered were still incom- i piete, so the committee, after due consideration, decided to cancel the license. The chairman, Mr. A. M. Mo'wlem, S.M., considered that the committee's instruction!? had. been treated with contempt. The license consequently, expires on December 31. With Mr. Mowlem, 8.M., on the Bonch were Messrs G. J. Goldfinch, A. Ross, and J. D. Crewe. *
