POVERTY BAY CLUB Favored by much better weather conditions, the 'various competitions of the Bay Club were advanced a further stage last Saturday. Tn the MiGibbon Hickman snatched a*lastminute victory by one point from McGibbon, and Somervell defeated Aitken by two points after an even game. Curteis beat JVloore easily, while Greig in defeating Robertson placed his fourth consecutive win to his credit and looks the winner of the Saturday section. • Gfeig's team to a man played good : bowls on Saturday, while his opponent's team seemed to bo having an off day. In the 'singles the second round was 'completed except for the Greig-Black-burn game, Which is to v be finalised today, and one game, in the third round has ended. Hickman again scored a one-point victory over Colley. both men playing well up to form. Aitken had a commanding lead on Robertson at the 13th head, but failed to score again. Auld had Curteis a few down over 16
