AUCKLAND OPERA HOUSE . INSURANCE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Fuller’s Opera House and contents were insured with Lloyd’s for approximately £25,000. FIRE AT IHAKARA LEVIN, this day. A lire at 1.30 o’clock this morning destroyed a 15-roomed residence at lhalcara owned by Mrs. J. l’otts, of Palmerston. and occupied by B. E. Russell, sharemilker. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. The insurances were £2OOO on the house, held in the State office, £350 on the furniture in th« Phoenix office, and £9O on the piano in the United company. PRISONERS SENTENCED CHRISTCHURCH, this day. In tho Supreme Court the following prisoners were sentenced: Leonard Wright, 37, for theft from a dwelling, six months’ gaol, with hard labor; Rudolph Kroft, a young German, .seven years’ gaol for breaking, entering and theft, and arson at Kaiapoi. The judge said he would b<s glad to send the prisoner back to Germany. Albert Henry Gordon, for theft, was admitted to probation, for two years. INJUNCTION AGAINST COUNCIL CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Mr. Justice Stringer to-day made an injunction, on tho application of R. Brown, restraining the New Brighton Borough Council from erecting a bridge over the Avon, which would impede navigation, holding that it would create a nuisance.
