GOLDEN WEDDING AT TOLAGA

The gp)den wedding of Mr. raid Mri. Ben Jolly was celebrated at Reynolds Hall, Tolaga Hay. There van a large gathering of friends and relatives, including 14 grandchildren and one gmitgrand child. MY. Jelly came out from England in' 1 *>6f> in the sailing ship- ff Stevaphy,G the voyage taking 5)1 days, and became interested in the first New Zealand railways. Mrs. Jolly was born in Wcl lii.gtou, and the couple were married in 1876 and came to .Poverty Bay in the same year. They were on The Waipaoa station when the great Tarawera eruption took place. in 1903 Mr. Jolly commenced' faming in the Tolaga Bay district, and continued until his retirement in 1924. The couple still enjoy good health. Congratulatory telegrams were received from numerous well-wishers.
