NIGHT WORK CONTROVERSY (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. . The Dominion bakers’ and pastrycooks’ dispute was heard by the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr P. Hally. The questions of hours, starting time, and wages were exhaustively discussed without arriving at any conclusion. A uniform starting hour was the most contentious item, the employers wanting freedom to engage night workers when required. The employees strenuously opposed the night work clauses. 'Die main questions accordingly were passed on to the Arbitration Court.
