PLEA FOR GLASGOW
OVERSEAS TRADE WANTED (Australian and N Z. Cable Association (Received November 27, 3.30 p. 111.) LONDON, Nov. 26. Sir William Raeburn, president of the Clyde Trust, speaking at a luncheon, admitted that Glasgow had not as large n population to supply as London, Liverpool, Manchester or Hull, but 6,000,000 people were dependent for supplies upon Glasgow. She- had all the facilities for dealing with a larger overseas trade and was anxious for much more Australian and New Zealand products shipped direct to Glasgow, which was a much cheaper port in every way than London.
