One of the sides of the coal strike not appreciated in New Zealand is the effect on the consumption cf cheese, stated Mr. F. Grainger, of Patea, who has been to England 1 in connection with the Dairy Board’s freight contract. The miners are among the largest caters of cheese in the United Kingdom. It is ono of the few things they can take down a. shaft without souring. With the strike that market has been lost, for on the surface they do not mind what they eat. Mr. Grainger will remain in New Zealand on the Control Board staff.
