FRAUD ALLEGED
"WHISPERING GALLERYwarrant AGAINST PEARSON (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received November L!<i, 10 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 25. A warrant lias been issued for the arrest of Hesketh Pearson on a charge of obtaining a cheque by false pretences. PEARSON ARRESTED (Received Nov. 26, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 25. Hesketh Pearson, literary agent p.ud publisher of "Whispering Gallery," has been arrested. Kesketh Pearson, an actor of some note, and a writer (if short stories, is alleged to have been connected with the publication of "Whispering Gallery," the book which created such a sensation when it appeared and was subsequently withdrawn as a hoax. A cable message yesterday stated that the publishers would be taking legal steps within the next 24 hours.
