MANCHESTER UNITY
The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Gisborne Lodge, (1087. was hold last night, Bro, 11. Shldcn, N.G., presiding over n good attendance, including several visitors. The sick visitors reported sevcVa'l rases visited, and n discussion arose of the great inconvenience of hospital visiting.. If was decided that the secretary write to the board asking for permission for the two'hospital visitors to gain admission to the wards at any time during the visiting hours, without' being kept waiting sometimes till closing time.
Nominations of officers for the ensuing six months were received, showing keen competition for the elective secretarial position. Election takes place on quarter night. November 22. when a large attendance may bo expected. A special degree meeting was then formed, tho following degree masters being appointed:—Past Grands Brs. P. C. Nivcn, Clayton, Win, Bridge, Bothwell; Bros. G.W. Holmes, R. W. Cook. Past Grainls were the conductors, and some ten members were advanced to ■white and blue degree, the ceremony being impressively carried out. The year (doses on November 22.
