Shakespeare's country, has, so far, fallen short by £60,000 of the £JOO.COO required to rebuild the Memovial Theatre at StrattoiJ. The £40,000 collected includes subscriptions and insurance money paid on the old theatre. Mr. A. I).'Flower, chairman of the memorial governors, is sailing for .America on Saturday to see whether America will make up England's deficiency. The authorities point out that Americans flock to Stratford, -whereas few British people visit the dramatist's birth-place.
