PHOSPHATE SUPPLIES
NEW ZEALAND'S SHARE REQUEST FOR INCREASE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In reply to a request from the Dominion executive of the Farmers' Union that the Government should be urged to take an early opportunity of getting an alteration in the Nauru agreement to secure N'ew Zealand a larger share of the output, Mr. 0. J. Hawken states truth the question has been deferred at the requeM of Great^Brifcnin.
A despatch from the Secretary .of State for Dominion Affairs stated that muler present arrangements A a!l of the United Kingdom, allotment not required by the United Kingdom is at the disposal of Australia and New Zealand, and in the event of British consumers desiring to obtain larger supplies from Nauru and Ocean 'lsland, care wotdd be taken to give reasonable notice. Having regard to the present position regarding the phosphate supplies available for British manufacturers, it was not anticipated that Britain would require any quantity from Nauru or Ocean Island for some years to come. It ha.-> been arranged that a full discussion shall take place at the Imperial Conference.
