BUT CAPITAL ESSENTIAL NEW SOUTH WALES' POSITION ATTITUDE OF INVESTORS (Elee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received October 7,2 p.m.) SVDNKV October 7. Speaking al the dinner to the Empire .Party delegates, the Premier, Mr Lang, said'emphatically that the State Labor Party was not opposed to immigration. 'They wanted cordially to welcome as many immigrants as they could assimilat'e," but I hey were a young nation, and their financial resources were limited. Jf the delegates could influence British capitalists to supply the money necessary for a fuller development of primary and secondary industries they conjd send as many immigrants as the industries would absorb without driving out local residents. Lord Salisbury, in reply ins, said that neither he nor the Government had any influence over the City of London. The .investment of money depended entirely upon the security offered. He could 'assure them that if they offered sufficient security the City of London would tumble head over heels to offer whatever money was wanted. Capital, however, was a shy article. There must be confidence by the investor, and (he rest was plain sailing.
