STRUCK OFF THE ROLL
SOLICITORS’ FRAUDS LAW SOCIETY’S ACTION (l’er Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Before the Appeal Court this morning, Mr. Von Haast appeared for the Law Society in ail application to strike Henry Karo Emanuel and John Charles Woodley, solicitors, off the! roll. Mr. Von Haast said, that Emanuel had pleaded guilty in Auckland to a charge ot the theft of nearly £6OOO. Mr. Blair, who appeared for Emanuel’ at tho previous session of the Court <>l Appeal, said he could not oppose the application in face of the facts, and that the order would have to he made. The Court struck Emanuel off accordingly, with £2l costs. Wood’.cv, said Mr. Von Haast. had left New Zealand, but admitted a- shortage ot £1648. Mr. Von Haast further stated that. Woodley’s partner was in no way involved in the case, and was absolutely dissociated from Woodley in the theft'. An order was made, to strike Woodley off. with the costs of the Law Society and £ls 15s disbursements.
