AT 40 MILES AN HOUR
POLICE CAR CRASHES ONE CONSTABLE KILLED FOUR OTHERS INJURED (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Aran.) (Received Oclober 2. 1 p.m.) MELBOURNE October 2. While travelling at 40 miles an hour in response lo a wireless summons a police patrol car dashed into some road excavations. One of the near wheels collapsed, and Die car overturned. One constable, Aitliur Currie. was killed, anil tour other constables were seriously injured. The smash occurred outside the Alfred Hospital.
