VERA CRUS HURRICANE DAMAGE NOT EXCESSIVE (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.; VERA CRUZ, Sept. 29. Although considerable damage was done to property bv the hurricane yesterday. conditions in the city are normal, with little to justify early reports that it destroyed or greatly damaged the city. Although reports are current that two persons were drowned, the authorities are unable to find that any deaths occurred. No foreigners were injured.

The chief damage was the razed wooden buildings along the waterfront, while the banana and sugar plantations inland were severely knocked about.
