NEW ZEALAND LOAN.

HOW IT WAS RECEIVED AT HOME. “ The New Zealand loan was floated during my stay at Heme, and the comments 1 heard upon it were simply wonderful. It made me more and more proud of our little country, and more and more proud of the fact that I was a New Zealander,” said Mr. 0. H. Scott, president of the New Zealand Association of British Manufacturers and Agents. One linancial magnate,” continued Mi 1 . Scott, “told me that we deserved to have the loan taken up because it. was presented in such a. business-like manner. I thought that when I got hack to New Zealand I must let that fact he known to the people, because it goes to prove that our Government is alive to the necessity of doing things on a sound business basis.” (Hear, hear.) Mr. 'Scott- also said that it was the opinion at Home that New Zealand’s wonderfully high place in the financial world was due largely to the splendid work of the late Prime Minister, Mr. Massey. (Applause.) Mr. Massey, said the speaker, set a very high standard indeed, and there was an obligation upon every New Zealander to see that that high standard was maintained. (Applause.)
