BRICKLAYERS' DEMANDS
INCREASED WAGE WANTED ’ BUILDERS STAND UNITED (Received Sept. 24. 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept - 24. The secretary of the Master Builders’ Association states that during the last few days the organiser of the Brick lavers' Union has made demands lor increases in wages'for members of his union, threatening l-lmt unless the demands are granted? the men will be withdrawn from the jobs. In some instances the threat has been carried out. The master builders tire determined to put a stop to those tactics, and if necessary to the extent of closing down oil works, in order that any act ion taken may be concentrated. A special meeting of builders litis been convened for to-day, when Hie question of closing down building jobs v\ ill be decided.
