A Toronto correspondent writes : Harriot wheat, the new early maturing grain evolved by the Federal experimental farms, is being distributed this spring lo 4000 Western farmers. Tha price is to bo 12s a bushel, and each applicant is to gel two busliels. Altogther 12.000 bushels of this wheat have been produced, but the Oovcrnniemf will retain 4000 to be sown under own direction on farms throughout the Dominion. Oarnet wheat matures in 100 days, as coinpaved with 110 days for Marquis wheat.
