GRABBED BY MAN
ROBBED IN BUSY STREET. STRANGE MELBOURNE STORY. MELBOURNE, Aug. 25. ' Allan Mclntyre, archil eel, of Droop street, Foolscray, has reported that he was assaulted and robbed of money. .Mid articles 'worth £53, while walking down Flinders street near the cornel' of Swanston street, at. 9 p.m. yesterday. The police regard the circumstances' as remarkable. Mclntyre, in his story to the police, said that when he was walk iiig down Swanston street towards Flinders street a woman approached him near St. Paul's Cathedral and asked to be directed to tlie Spencer street railway station. He thought, the woman was a stranger to the city. and. walked with her into Flinders street to show her the way to the station. A man came up behind him and seized him by the neck and he was dragged among some stationary motor 1 cars..
'The man threw him to the -round. and placing his knee on his chest rifled his pockets, taking V. 32 in notes, a leather pocket-book, postage stamps, and a fountain pen.
