STEERS IN CITY

Headed by a' magnificent Scottish steer, pure black and with a six-foot spread of horns, its mouth foaming and eyes bloodshot, 35 bullocks ran amok in a two miles stampede in the crowded streets around King's Cross to-day. The steers came in a train from (he Highlands fop the Caledonian market. heinrj intended for slaughter, They bolted from the market, and the red General 'buses seemed to infuriate them. Many guileless Londoners attempted to stop Ihor charge. Those unable to dodge the animals were hurt. The herd spent its furv in half an hour, and was rounded up quietly in side streets.
