UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS.

TE lIA PA I! A SCHOOL BALL. delightful function. Hundreds of happy pupils of the Te ' Hapara school spent a delightful evening at the City Hall on Friday, w'fl the annual plain and iancy dress ball was staged. The attendance was far bevond expectations, the hall being crowded to the doors, and the function, both socially amt financially, was an unprecedented success. The tastefully decorated ball and the pretty frocks of the children made a gay 1 spectacle. Largo numbers of parents and friends \reie present, and all spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The occasion was taken to introduce the new headmaster. Mr Curteis, to the parents, members of the committee and the children. The supper arrangements were in the hands of a committee comprising ladies of the school district and members of the staff, wJig. under the capable supervision of Miss Scott, carried out their duties in a most efficient manner. The generosity of the Motor Cycle Club in lending the charming decorations for the hall was much appreciated. The following is a list of the prizewinners : —Girls : Jean Allen (twink jazz) 1.
