DOINGS IN DUNEDIN. GREEN ISLAND BOROUGH.’ (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. At a citizens meeting of representatives of social, labor and other bodies held ru unemployment, a committee was set, up to deal with the matter. Mr. Afaomanus, of the Laborers’ Union, stated the city had recently been spending at the rate of £BO,OOO thousand a vear to keep unemployed going till Ihe Government could assist, hut the latter was shirking its resnonsibility. Tlie Rev." Air. Walker, representing the Council of Christian Congregations, suggested the raising of .a loan by the city. He thought the Government was making a huge mistake in bringing so many immigrants out in winior. Green Island, ns a borough, lias decided to raise si loan of £2500 for unemployment relief.
