Mr. and Mrs. W. 'Dinwiddle, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dinwiddie. of Napier, are paying a brief visit to Gisbome.

Arthur, M.A. (Edin.)_, at prosent first assistant of the Napa'?' Girls' High School; has been appointed headmistress in succession to Miss V.. M. Greig. M.A., 8,.5c.,.wh0 leaves shortly to become headmistress of the Wellington Girls'* College.

The Royal College, of Surgeons awarded the Walker Prize of £IOO to Dr. Gye in recognition of his work in the pathology and therapeutics of cancer.

Pastor N. Rhodes Scragg, president of the New Zealand Conference of Sevenths Day Adventists, is paying a brief visit to Gisborne in company with Mr, J. Hookirigs, building architect for the above denomination. Their' visit is to consider plans for renovation and etxension of the church in Palmerston- road.
