C'n. Thursday, April 29, the annual Catholic social is to bo held in the Waerenga-a-hika hall. With McMalien's orchestra supplying tho music, and the floor in excellent order, dancers should have an enjoyable evening. There will be a good supper. The Key. das. Ait ken, M.A., will continue his special series of evangelistic sermons at .St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church to-morrow oveiling. The subjects for the morning and evening services are advertised op the front page. . .

At the Church of Christ, Roebuck road, on Sunday evening Mr. Herbert Grinstead will give a Gospel address, at'7 o'clock, his subject being "Beginning at Jerusalem." At 8.15 p.m. a combined after-church prohibition rally will be held, under the auspices of the New Zealand Alliance.

The Tent Mission has outgrown its premises; Despite repeated' effort's to accommodate the Sunday night congregations by increased seating, it is still impossible to cope with the crowds attending. The Palace Theatre has been selected in place of the tent for Sunday nights. To-morrow night's address is on "Evolution and the Bible." See advertisement in this issue.

Among the forthcoming dog trial fixtures is the, annual meeting of tho Here Club, which is being held next Friday and Saturday on Mr. C. Matthews' property at Rbre. This club, which held' its initial meeting last year, is making good headway, and with good weather conditions should have a most successful meeting next week.

Mr. IT. Grinstead, of Palmorston North, will represent the New Zealand. Alliance at special services on Sunday morning at IT in the Salvation Army Barracks, and in, the evening at the. Roebuck road Church of Christ. Mr. Grinstead has been the chosen speaker at, over 200 church services during, the last two years. A "Ten Days Back to the Bible Campaign" will be commenced at the Baptist Tabernacle to-morrow at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., by tho Rev. If. Hercus, ol Hamilton, who is also the president-elect of the New Zealand Baptist Union. At 11 aim.; Mr' Hercus' subject is, "The Right Atmosphere for Revival," and'at 7 p.m., "Stepping Heavenward:" Special singing and solos will be rendered. The meetings will be continued' until April 28, and the subjects,will be published in the Herald each day. A, hearty welcome is extended to all. The Gisbome School's annual concert takes places on Thursday and Friday next at the Opera House. Owing to tho infantile paralysis epidemic last year it -was found impossible to hold the usual concert in 1925. This year's concert promises to'bo a very successful one; the children have been practising assiduously for somemonths, and are al! looking forward to the 'entertainment. The last concerts were given to .-bumper houses, on both nights patrons having to be turned away, the. Opera Houso not' beinglargo enough to accommodate the crowd. Big houses are anticipated on Thursday and Friday next. TTie Harriers Club orchestra will supply the music.
