Shipping Conference lias adopted the British delegates' amended resolution on the League of Nations and international organisation, recording its grave concern at the rapid multiplication of international organisations representing Governments and other interests, :is involving unnecessary in"terfdrcnec with shipping activities, and expressing the opinion that the League's activities should bo limited to securing and maintaining freedom of communications and transit, and the equitable treatment of commerce. It is noteworthy that the American delegation did not vote on this resolution. The Conference unanimously adopted the report on life saving appliances and wireless, which, inter alia, recommended that some penalty lie provided for the misuse of distress signals.
