Mr W. Thomas. M.A., principal of the Timartt Boys' High School, was to leave Auckland bv the Aorangi on a visit to Canada, the United States, and Great Britain. Mr Tlmnns is accompanied h\- Mrs. Thomas, and will travel with Professor !). B. Copland, professor of economies at Melbourne 'University, and Mr; Copland. Professor Copland is travelling ■under the auspices oi' the Rockefeller Foundation, and trill visit Hie universities of the United States. Great Britain, and Europe, with the object of promoting research work in economies among Australian and New Zealand students. Notice of transfer has lioeii received by Mr R. C. Sweet, of the Gisborne staff of the National Bank of New Zealand. Mr Sweet has been with the local bianrh since its inception here some fifteen years ago, and few.hank officials have made themselves moie deservedly popular. An amateur entertainer of unusual talent, lie has rendered great assistance to various local efforts.
