The following are the results of the weight, estimating competitions at the Waivoa A. and I*. (Society’s show: —One live sheep (actual weight 1721b5.): J. L. Duuu (Hastings), 172(1 hs., .1; Angus Bods (Wairoa), 171^lbs., 2. Two dead sheep (actual weight 1771 bs.): R. Gilliam (Patutalii). 177!b5., 1; C. B. Carson (ispi'ingliall, Frasevtown), 175J,lbsJ 2.
Air and Airs J. It. Thomson, formerly of Wairoa, and latterly m business in Wellington, are on a visit to Wairoa. Miss England, of Auckland, is on a visit to Air and Airs R, Tapper, junr., Tnpui, AVaikareinouna. Mr and Airs F. T.'Ager and family left by the T’angaroa on Friday night for Napier, on route to Lihristcl.niri li, where Air Ager intends later to re-enlcr bis profession as an architect.
Professor Hunter, of Victoria College and his friends, have had a splendid holiday amid the beautiful scenery of Wniknremoana, so they declare, and not a little spurt, among the trout. The Rev. Air .Murray, of To A pit i, of whom Fraserlowu and Wairoa people have, pleasant .memories, is on a visit to the district.
Mr Gordon Boyd, the pioneer WairoaNuliaka motor carrier, had the misfortune on Show night to lose his lorry by lire. Mr W. Finucnne.,. of (lie waterside workers, engaged loading wool on the To Arolia- a lew days ago. sustained a broken leg owing to a bale of wool hilling on him.
The last shipment of 'Wairoa Dairy Factory butter totalled 160 boxes, ami non a grade, of 95A points.
