The earthquake, which was felt so severely at Masterton on Thursday afternoon was also experienced at Wanganui in the. form of a. severo shock at 3.47 o'clock. The. shock seemed to emanate from a north-westerly direetionand proceed in a south-easterly direction. The shake, which lasted for some seconds, went unnoticed by the. majority of people owing to' the fact that the Christmas'rush was «f its hwght. ( The shock was not as severe as the one felt a few weeks ago. No damage was reported in lha city, although scimei cracks that ma'dn their appearance recently in concrete structures and chimneys have been enlarged.
