BRILLIANT FUTURE. U.S. VIEW REFUTED. WASHINGTON, Dec. 15.—The former U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain, Mr. George Harvey, wrote in the North American Review a most pessimistic and gloomy article on Britain’s future, and to-day tlie British Embassy issued a formal repudiation of Mr. Harvey’s views. “We may look ahead to a restoration of confidence and credit throughout Europe,” said Sir Esme Howard, the British Ambassador, “and to a re-estab-lishment of European markets, which should alter, much for the better, Britain’s economic prospects, and which lias already begun to do so to a remarkable degree.”
