LONDON, Dec. 12.—A message from Port Said says that tho Dutch steamer Bat, jan, from Brisbane, has collided with an unknown steamer in the, Gull of Suez.

Tho Batjan was struck amidships, plates being buckled and frames damaged. Temporary repairs are recommended.

it is feared that the other vesesl has foundered.
