The police tiro puzzled as to what to do with £l6O seized in Freeman's office in connection with the Now Zealand Sweep case. The money appears destined to go into the Government revenue, Tnit the question is whether the New South Wales or Now Zealand Government should got it. Tho police state it is impossible to return the money to hundreds of people in New Zealand who sent for tickets, as til,, letlera came from all parts of the Dominion. II also is questionnblc if the money would he claim oil, as il is illegal to part impale in sweeps JUTd lotteries in New Zealand. and i hr? buyers of tickets are hardly likely 6' claim the money. The police are await ing advice from the New Zealand authorities before talcing any action.
