SYDNEY,. Aug. 11.' The Miners’ Delegates Board is SitDug at Newcastle, considering tho serious position which has arisen following on the refusal of the Pelaw Main miners to work the air turbine machines unless the rates and condL Dons concerning the working of tlic machines are first determined- byytjie Coal Tribunal. The latter tribunal;has refused to hear The claims unless the machines arc worked, and the men in refusing this, ignored the advice, of their leaders in the Miners’ Federation. If the Delegates Board fail to arrive at a solution and thfe men persist in their attitude,, it is considered that a general mining upheaval may result. Feeling in the' district is very strong, and many miners.’ lodgtis are urging the calling of aggregate meetings to determine what action should be taken.
The Miners ’ Delegates- , Board at Newcastle decided that the president of the northern miners’ branch of the Miners’ Federation and the delegate from the Pelaw Main branch meet _th:eOentral Council of the Coal Miners’ Federation at Sydney on (Wednesday to formulate a policy for submission to members for ratification.' '
