The Commonwealth Line is again involved in trouble with the Seamen’s Union. During the voyage frojn London several oil burners and deck hiinds refused work and . certain men 'were “logged.” The. Seamen’-s •• prijfoh' : -bdfc;" manded that the “logging” bo cancelled’, but- the management of the line refused, and when the crew were asked to .renew articles, twenty-six men refused to..sijjh on agnin. A call 'at tjie . .shippip'g master’s office for men to take their places was unsuccessful. Efforts are being made to arrange a. conference,between the Line and the Union.
