SAFE LANDING REPORTED
A TRYING EXPERIENCE
(Router's Telegram.) (Received August 11, 1 p.m.) VANCOUVER, Aug. 10.
A message from Victoria, British Columbia, states that Commander Maude, who left in a sloop for England in May, and: whose whereabouts have been the cause of anxiety for several weeks, landed at an Indian village on the Washington const ori Sunday.
Partially blinded by the sun’s glare, the lone mariner said that lie was hit on the head by tlie boom and for many days was in a semi-conscious state. He voyaged a« far south as Santa Barbara.
