WATERSIDE CLAIMS.
MEAT LOADING NOT POPULAR. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. The Rotorua, which arrived at Lyttelton on Saturday, has not as yet sue reeded in engaging labor to load her meat cargo. The port is very busy, and as jlnbor is scarce, that available bus taken its choice of the jobs offering and left, the meal loading alone. If labor is not available to-morrow morning, the. Rotorua, will proceed to Wellington without, lifting the meat she has come to pick up. The men engaged in trimming coal on the Kawatiri are demanding payment above, the twopence extra, an hour allowed for handling Newcastle coal. The dispute lias, been referred to the National Disputes Committee. Wellington.
