SOLDIER WATER,SIDER.S. SYDNEY, Feb. 16. The Returned Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Waterside Workers’ Union is issuing a summons on Tuesday against the Stevedoring Company, which, it is alleged, has given preference to members of the Waterside Workers’ Federation over the Returned Soldiers’ Union. KOROMTKO TROUBLE SETTLED. (Received February 17, 1 p.m.) ADELAIDE, Feb. 17. A settlement lias been effected of the trouble on the steamer lvoromiko, the Union Company acceding to the demands of the Seamen’s Union. The two firemen needed to complete the complement were signed on at the Australian rates of pay. Informations laid against twenty members of the crew for alleged disobedience of lawful commands are to be withdrawn. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. In regard to the Moernki, due here to-morrow, a prominent official of the Watersiders’ Union said to-day: “So far as my union is concerned, work will be proceeded with on the waterfront in the usual way. The question of discharging the Moeraki has not been considered by our executive, and the vessel is at present no more to the union than any other ship.” NO RESPONSE TO CALL FOR MEAT LOADING.
