At the 'Stadium, Harry Collins, welter champion of Australia, defeated Leo Darton, the Belgian, on points in a twenty-round contest. The visitor fought with great determination against Collins’ punishing attack and superior ringcraft up to the fifteenth round, from which lip came out' verv groggy. MELBOURNE, Feb. 15. Billy Grime knocked out Ben Martin in the eighteenth round of a game fight. FLYNN-PURDY FIGHT. A FRACTURED FINGER. (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. M. Flynn, who fought with Purdy at the Town Hall on Wednesday, and lost on points, reports that during the third round lie fractured the first- finger of his right hand. An X-ray photograph taken on Thursday discloses this fracture, and Flynn is now undergoing medical treatment, the injured hand being considerably swollen. For 12 rounds Flynn carried on tiio contest with his injured hand, and, having this fact in view, lie certainly put up a very game display. Flynn expresses his desire for a return match with Purdy when lie has fully recovered from his injury, but- lie considers that in the event of a return being arranged Purdy should make about 9st 51b, thus reducing his weight by a, few. pounds and giving Flynn a fairer handicap. Flynn understands that Purdy would have no objection to fighting him at the "weight mentioned.
