NEW PLYMOUTH, last night
The Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister for Railways, arrived at New Plymouth tonight from Te Kniti, and left later for Martoii, cn route to Wellington. ”1 cannot confirm it,” said Mr Coates, when his attention was drawn to the report that Mr E. Fay, a son of Sir Sam Fay, Railway Commissioner, is to take control of the Operations Branch of the railwavs,
Mr Coates hinted at the possibility of one of the visiting raiiwaymen coining to slay in the Dominion for about three months and another one for a- longer period, but lie could- not say anything definite, He will issue a'statement on railway matters -in a few da-vs.'

In all probability he will leave New Zealand shortly, to return, with his wife and family, from England early next. year.
