EXTENDING THEIR OCCUPATIONS.

The occupational section of the 1921 census reveals that women have invaded many occupations previously monopolised by men. There are 149 women undertakers, 73 bookmakers, 11 trainers and jockeys, 500 bargees, 23 chimney sweeps. 19 brewers. 753 railway porters, 309 stationmaslers. 217 farm bailiffs, also plumbers, riveters, and gunsmiths.
