KAITI SCHOOL.

The monthly meeting of the Kaiti school committee was held last evening. Present: Messrs. G. Crawshaw (chairman), Coleman, "Williams, 'Biekt'ord, Thompson, Quigley, and Cox. The headmaster's report was rend and adopted. In the report it was stated that the attendance during the past month had shown slight, improvement, but was still considerably affected by illness. The average at tendance was 311 and the roll .'352. On November II the school had a brief visit from Sister Leo, who interviewed certain of the pupils. The annual inspection of the school was made, by Inspectors MeCaskill and Brnnton on November 2o* and 27. Fourteen pupils in standard (! had gained their proficiencies, while two others gained theirs during the year. Competency certificates had lioon earned by four pupils. At present he was conducting the annual promotion examinations, which he expected to have completed next week. Mr. Black had kindly presented the school with a framed picture of Caplain Cook. He pointed out that the time was due for the taking over of the additional two acres for the playground, and he considered that something should be done with the fence on the western side. The medicine cabinet and new dux board had been completed by certain of the standard (i boys under Hie supervision of Mr. P. A. Clark. The distinction of being dux for this year had fallen to Alvin Hall. The report concluded by thanking the committee for its valued assistance during the year and by wishing each member a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Final arrangements were made for the picnic to be held at the Park on Hie 18th instant.

Mr. Biekford proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the teaching staff; for the satisfatcory results in the examinations and for the efficient work done during the year. This was carried. Accounts amounting to £l(> . r >,s were passed for payment.
