SPORTS MEETING

The sports meeting in conjunction with the- Band Carnival was continued at the Reserve yesterday afternoon. The weather, though cloudy, held fine, and the events were got off expeditiously. The attendance somewhat increased later in tlie* afternoon.

Musical items were given by Mr T. Shones party, and selections and recitations by Mr Sharpie’s. The remaining goods wore auctioned by Messrs Arlow and Bullivant, and these brought good prices.

The remaining competitions resulted as follows: Box ottoman. Mrs 1). Ferguson: leather attache case, G. O’Donnell; baby outfit. Miss Ralsv Martin: Brownie camera, M‘rs Stevenson : cvele tyro and tubes. A. Adcrnft and .T. Denham ; set of brushes, S. McKay: ease of nines, Lin Bobinson; cvele lamp, L. Stevenson; silver brush and mirror, A. Adcroft.
